Famed tabla percussionist, Rinku Adarsh from India holds the new world record for playing a percussion instrument for 21 non-stop hours. Mr. Adarsh is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, claiming the title from former world champion, Leo Fernandez from Japan. Rinku began his recital on the “vilambit teen taal” to the tune of raag “Chandrakauns” and ended the 21 hour essay on”ek taal” His ten taal: essay in the course of the performance, included major rhythm beats like rupak and jhap.
He has been featured in newspapers, magazines and satellite channels of the world such as BBC World, CNN International, USA, AP France, DPA Germany, Ohiodo Broadcasting Corporation, Japan, Sydney Broadcasting Corporation, Australia, etc.
Mr. Adarsh, a man of many talents, is foremost a musician, composer, teacher and philanthropist. He is CEO of Global Enterprises, a company that promotes upcoming singers and dancers in India.
For the last 20 years, Rinku studied Tabla with the famous Indian Percussionist, Maestro Pt. Ganga Dayal Pandy of Lucknow, Gharana; learned Russian Classical and Folk Music in Kiev and has composed music for Indian films such as “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Mann.
He has worked with musicians and singers like Annop Jalota, Rabindra Jain, Alexander Ivanewich, Spring Caxton, Gulaam Ali, Birju Maharaj and Julius Scenaro, to name a few.
His music has been heard in solo performances in St Petersburg, Moscow and Kiev, Russia; Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Mexico, Vivista, Donetak, Lugansk, throughout India and many other countries
Mr. Adarsh received his Bachelor and Masters Degree from Prayaag Sangit Samiti. He is the founder of training institutes in Mumbai, Pune and Patna. The institutes prepare music students for competitions. When he is not performing world wide, he is promoting traditional Indian music among the youth.
